#Nomachine chromebook Offline#
I'm not going offline with music as I haven't had albums or music files for years, but there's always Spotify. I'm unable to contemplate a switch from Google music until they figure out what to do with YouTube music, as both of them are half broken now. Either that or pay more and more for storage, I'm already trying to cut my 9.99 to 1.99 tier.ĭocs and sheets are more and more unreliable, I've had major syncing and saving issues. I stopped using Photos once they announced they wouldn't support Google drive, because in order to backup and remove photos I would now have to manually go through Photos to save them all offline. I'm trying to limit it to only Gmail, it's the only thing they can get halfway right (RIP Inbox).

Ironically, when I switched my main driver to a Chromebook I'm using fewer Google services because they're all shit. If I want to access from outside my network I need to run Crouton, an entire Linux environment, port forward to a 3rd party that's not blocked, and run a vnc server. I've never understood why Chromebooks don't allow remoting in without having to put in a key, which you need to get from the host. I still like my solution better though, because I don't always want to be in full-screen mode) (as a sidenote: you can skip all this nativefier stuff, and simply go into full-screen mode in the web app and those shortcuts will work again.

Install nativefier through NPM >npm install nativefier -gĬhange the directory to where you want to create the nativefied app

#Nomachine chromebook .exe#
exe from some random stranger on the internet, then you can package it up yourself: zip of the remote desktop web app that has been "nativefied" simply unzip the folder, then run "Chrome Remote Desktop.exe" Electron is based on chromium so everything renders properly, but since it's designed to be a stand-alone application it doesn't intercept any of the standard chrome shortcuts. Nativefier it's a NPM package that bundles any web page into an Electron desktop app. But as I was reading your post I realized a solution that makes all those shortcuts work again!Īnd the solution is. I had this same exact complaint, and came to this subreddit to vent. Write a fucking program for once in your life.

Ctrl-F4 or Ctrl-W, hm? Congratulations, I've just closed my browser session and I have to reconnect.Įdit: I also can't middle click or used ctrl-PgDn and ctrl-PgUp to move between tabs. I want to open a new tab to check something, so I hit ctrl-T, right? No, that opens a new tab away from CRD. I hit alt-left, yes? No, that brings me out of Chrome Remote Desktop because CRD is just another web page now. Now, let's say I click on a link, read a page, and want to go back. I remote into my home computer when I'm at work or on the road so that I can have a consistent browsing experience and not be subject to my work's web filtering or spying. You know what 99% of what I do once I've logged into Chrome Remote Desktop is? Using a web browser. You had a nice design, you let me name all my PCs, you didn't infect me with too many weird borders. Chrome Remote Desktop, you used to be cool.
